Windows phone 7 will stop working properly if you remove the SD card, and the SD card cannot be read by another phone, device, or PC. If you want to revive the SD card that once was in your Windows phone 7, you will have to decrypt it by formatting. Then what about all the files on the card? Can they be recovered? There are 2 ways to recover the deleted files from your Windows Phone 7, the good old one from backup, and the other with third party utility. So we will separate the article into two parts, each demonstrate one way.

Part 1: Recover Deleted Photos, Videos and Files from Windows Phone 7 Zune Backup

Since you the SD card and your Windows Phone 7 internal storage are considered as one storage system, so when you connect your Windows Phone 7 to the PC, the software Zune will automatically backup all your data and settings, no matter they are stored on your phone or card. If you have a recent backup with your deleted files in it, it's much easier from here.

• 1. Make sure you note all you settings and the data since your last sync, so you will know what to do later to set your phone up the way you want to.

• 2. Connect your Windows Phone 7 to your PC that you usually sync with and run Zune software.

• 3. Go to Setting -> Phone -> Update, and click Restore.

• 4. Then follow the on-screen instruction to complete the restoration.
