"I am using a Samsung Galaxy S7 and have trouble using the SD card and am constantly getting SD Card Unexpectedly Removed messages. This happens when I am viewing photos located on the SD card. The phone then automatically tries to reinstall the SD card and, after few minutes, starts working again."

Many Samsung Galaxy users have experienced the error messages saying, "SD card removed unexpectedly" or "The file system on the SD card is corrupted" especially when you attempt to view files stored on it or launch any application on the card. 1. microSD card contacts are dirty

If your SD card slot is corroded, water-damaged or has rust, the phone will have problem to recognize your SD card and prompts you "SD card removed unexpectedly".

2. Faulty microSD card

This error was possibly caused by a problematic SD card, such as the SD card damaged, virus infected and corrupted and inaccessible.

3. Faulty microSD port

If the device repeatedly fails to properly interface with microSD cards, the microSD port may be corrupted.

Part 2: Possible Fixes for SD card Removed Unexpectedly

1. Reinsert SD Card

Firstly, power off your phone and then reinsert your SD card. Power back your device after. This will ensure that the card is properly inserted and the restarting process will help refresh the system of the phone.

2. Clean up microSD card contacts and Slot

Remove the SD card from your Samsung Galaxy, and clean the contacts with a soft, dry cloth. Also use a can of dust remover to clean the SD slot. Check the slot for corrosion, rust, or water damage. After that, insert the SD card and make sure the SD card properly fitted.

3. Unmout SD card

Go to Settings > Storage > Unmount SD card, restart your phone, go back to Settings > Storage > Mount SD card, see if the error still exists. If mounting SD card won't help, get ready to factory reset Android phone.

4. Check your SD card

Remove the microSD card again and see if your computer or laptop can read it. If it can be read, save all files to your computer and format you SD card and see if the problem still exits. If your computer fails to read your SD card, then you have to replace a SD card for your Galaxy.

5. Replace microSD port

If all methods didn't work and the device repeatedly fails to properly interface with microSD cards, you may have to take your phone to a repair store and see if it is need to replace the microSD port.
