“Hello all, I’m newbie. I update 2 weeks ago my S7 from Marshmallow to Nougat , and that was my biggest mistake , my phone battery it is drain to much , I wipe cash partition ,after I try factories reset , but still same, I need help to downgrade from Nougat to Marshmallow.”

Your S7 became extremely laggy or battery drains faster after updating to Android Nougat? Android 7.0 Nougat comes with handful of features such as App Shortcuts, Multi Window support, etc. But for some reasons, you may unhappy with it and want to downgrade to Marshmallow. Here is a simple guide on downgrade Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge from Android Nougat to Marshmallow.

Preparations before Downgrading from Nougat to Marshmallow

Before you downgrade to Marshmallow, please make sure that:

• Charge your phone to at least 60% or more,
• Take a complete backup of all your data (including your apps),
Note: Your phone data will be completely wiped during the process. If you unfortunate lost data without backup, you can refer to Android Data Recovery for help.
• You have latest USB drivers installed.

Requirements for Downgrading from Nougat to Marshmallow

You also have to download a downgrade tool and  Stock Marshmallow Firmware for Samsung for Galaxy S7 and S7 edge.

• Download latest Odin on your PC.
• Download Galaxy S7 Stock Marshmallow Firmware.
• Download Galaxy S7 Edge Stock Marshmallow Firmware.

Steps to Downgrade from Nougat to Marshmallow Galaxy S7/S7 Edge

Now you can follow steps below to downgrade Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge from Android Nougat to Marshmallow.

• Go to Settings -> About Phone -> Software Info -> Now Tap on the Build Number 7-8 Times until you see a toast message “Developer option enabled“.

• Once your developer option is active, Go back to your settings -> Open developer option -> Enable USB Debugging. 

• Open Odin on your PC and connect your Galaxy S7/S7 Edge to your PC with the USB cable.
• Turn your Phone off. Press and hold the Home + Volume Down + Power buttons together until you see the download mode screen.

• When the device is in download mode and connected to Odin, you will see its ID in ID:COM box. If it doesn’t show there, make sure you have properly installed the USB drivers for the phone.

• Now select the downloaded firmware files in the AP box in Download section in Odin. In Option tab, tick Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time.

• Press Start button once you are ready. The flashing process will start now. Once the process is complete, a green Pass message will appear.

When it’s completed, unplug and reboot your Galaxy S7 or S7 edge. Your S7 is already downgraded from Android Nougat to Marshmallow. Let us know in comment section below if you have any problems.
